विश्व प्रेस स्वतंत्रता दिवस पत्रकारों की सुरक्षा के संकल्प के साथ मनाया गया

NaradSandesh।।फरीदाबाद, 03 मई, 2024: जे.सी. बोस विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय वाईएमसीए फरीदाबाद, हरियाणा के संचार एवं मीडिया तकनीकी विभाग ने 3 मई 2024 को विश्व प्रेस स्वतंत्रता दिवस मनाया। विभाग के अध्यक्ष डॉ. पवन सिंह व संकाय सदस्यों और कर्मचारियों तथा मीडिया छात्रों ने पत्रकारिता में सत्य, निष्पक्षता और सार्वजनिक सेवा के सिद्धांतों को बनाए रखने की शपथ ली ताकि यह सुनिश्चित किया जा सके कि पत्रकारिता में जनता के विश्वास से कभी समझौता न हो। इस अवसर पर विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रो. एस.के. तोमर ने विभाग को शुभकामनाएं  दी।

 इस अवसर पर, अध्यक्ष ने कहा “पत्रकारिता एक जिम्मेदारी और चुनौतीपूर्ण  पेशा है। मीडिया शिक्षक होने के नाते हमें कुछ विशेषाधिकार मिलते हैं और इन विशेषाधिकारों का उपयोग समाज की भलाई के लिए करना हमारा कर्तव्य है। हमारा गलत लेखन और रिपोर्टिंग लोगों का करियर बर्बाद कर सकता है और सामाजिक तनाव भी पैदा कर सकता है। इसलिए, हमें किसी भी मुद्दे पर रिपोर्ट करने से पहले हमेशा तथ्यों की अच्छी तरह जांच करनी चाहिए। कार्यक्रम का संचालन विभाग के सहायक प्राध्यापक डॉ. भारत धीमान ने किया। विश्व प्रेस स्वतंत्रता दिवस हर वर्ष  3 मई को मनाया जाता है। यूनेस्को के सम्मेलन की सिफारिश के बाद, दिसंबर 1993 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा द्वारा इसकी घोषणा की गई थी।

World Press Freedom Day Marked with Pledges to Protect Journalists

NaradSandesh।।Faridabad,03May, 2024:The Department of Communication & Media Technology of J.C. Bose University of Science & Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, Haryana observed the World Press Freedom Day on 3rd May 2024. The chairperson of the department with all faculty members, staff, and media students took a pledge to continue work for the voice of the voiceless. The pledge was took to uphold the principles of truth, impartiality, and public service in journalism ensuring that the trust and confidence of the public in journalism are never compromised. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. S.K. Tomar congratulated the department.  

The chairperson, Dr. Pawan Singh said “Journalism is a responsible and challenging profession. Being media teachers we get certain privileges and it is our duty to use these privileges for the betterment of society. Our wrong writing and reporting can destroy the careers of people and also cause social tension. Therefore, we should always do a lot of fact-checking before reporting on any issue”. Dr. Bharat Dhiman, Assistant Professor of the department, coordinated the event. 

The World Press Freedom Day is celebrated every year on 3rd May. It was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in December 1993, following the recommendation of UNESCO’s General Conference.
