राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में विश्वविद्यालय के डीन छात्र कल्याण के कार्यालय द्वारा ‘एक राष्ट्र, एक चुनाव’ और ‘वोटिंग जैसा कुछ नहीं, मैं निश्चित रूप से वोट करता हूं’ विषय पर डीन छात्र कल्याण के कार्यालय द्वारा भाषण प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया, जिसका संचालन विश्वविद्यालय के अनन्या छात्र क्लब द्वारा किया गया। प्रतियोगिता में लगभग 35 विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया तथा प्रथम तीन स्थान पर रहने वाले विद्यार्थियों को पुरस्कार दिये गये। बीसीए की छात्रा रिया छाबड़ा ने प्रथम पुरस्कार जीता, जबकि दूसरा और तीसरा पुरस्कार क्रमशः बीटेक के छात्र देव सिंह और काजल चैधरी ने जीता। विजेताओं को ट्रॉफी और प्रमाण पत्र देकर सम्मानित किया गया। गतिविधि नोडल अधिकारी प्रोफेसर वासदेव मल्होत्रा तथा तहसीलदार राजस्व श्री सुरेश कुमार की देखरेख में की गई।
मैकेनिकल इंजीनियरिंग के अध्यक्ष प्रो.अरविंद गुप्ता और सभी बूथ लेवल अधिकारी मौजूद रहे। इस अवसर पर विद्यार्थियों के साथ-साथ शिक्षण और गैर-शिक्षण स्टाफ सदस्यों ने शपथ लेकर लोकतंत्र निर्माण में भागीदारी निभाने का संकल्प भी लिया।
कुलपति प्रो. सुशील कुमार तोमर ने निर्वाचन साक्षरता के लिए की गई पहल की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि यह सराहनीय है कि युवा पीढ़ी अपने अधिकारों के प्रति जागरूक है और मतदान के अधिकार के महत्व को समझती है। उन्होंने कहा कि लोकतंत्र निर्माण की गतिविधियों में छात्रों की भागीदारी को प्रोत्साहित करना महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि यह समग्र रूप से समाज और राष्ट्र के लिए आवश्यक है।

JC Bose University conducted Electoral Awareness Program

Faridabad, 25 January – To urge first time voters to actively participate in democracy building exercise and casting of votes during elections, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, in collaboration with District Election Office celebrated National Voter’s Day at University campus and conducted awareness programme on EVMs and VVPATs ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
In the various activities which were organized at the university campus to mark National Voters Day, the students participated in the declamation competition organized by the office of Dean Student Welfare and conducted by the Ananya student club on the topics "One Nation, One Election" and "Nothing Like Voting, I Vote For Sure".
About 35 students participated in the competition and prizes were given to students for first three places. Ria Chabbra, a student of BCA student won first prize. Second and third prizes won by Dev Singh and Kajal Chaudhary, students of B.Tech. Winners were awarded with trophies and certificates. The activity was conducted by Prof. Vasdev Malhotra, the Nodal Officer in the presence of Tehsildar Revenue Sh Suresh Kumar.
Prof. Arvind Gupta, chairperson of Mechanical Engineering, all Booth Level Officer were present . On this occasion, more than 200 students along with teaching and Non teaching staff members pledged to participate in the democracy building exercise.
Appreciating the initiative taken for electoral literacy, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar said that it is commendable that the young generation is aware about their rights and understand the importance of right to vote. He said that it is important to encourage student’s participation in democracy building exercise as it is concern to the society and the nation as a whole.
